And the winner is...

Prize for the Best Internasjonal Film

NUFF 2011Humiliated and Offended
Dir: Dany Horichui & Salvador Palma

Jury motivation:

As judges, we were hoping to be surprised, and we were looking for a work that would display concision, economy and focus, while ideally also addressing NUFF's guiding concept of "film for a better world".
We found all of these things - and more - in Humilhados e Ofendidos, an intense, elliptic film made with striking maturity, impressive confidence, and artistic flair.
It is on one level the straightforward story of a single, pitiful individual and his distraught, fractured family. But it also implicitly speaks about a community and a nation - perhaps even a continent and a world - that are struggling to find their way.
