Raphaële Bénisty

Raphaële Bénisty is a French documentary filmmaker. She grew up in Paris, where she studied documentary cinema. After graduating she decided to go to Burkina Faso, where she spent four years. There, she worked for a famous satirical newspaper, « le Journal du Jeudi » and made her first documentary film: « Allah garib » following a group of child beggars in Ouagadougou and « Mangeuse d ‘âmes », for which she spent months in a camp of old women accused of witchcraft. Most of her films are charged with a strong social background, portraying strong characters, we rarely see on screen.

Alexandra Shipman

Alexandra Shipman is a London-based director of fiction and documentary. She has directed several micro-budget shorts that have screened in numerous festival across the world with her last fiction short, "Inside," being selected as Cannes Film Festival Best 8 for the Straight 8 competition and praised by BAFTA winning director Mark Jenkin as an ‘incredible piece of work’. Her day job is shooting Warner Brothers and Lucas Film's ‘making of’ featurettes. She has worked on Fantastic Beasts 3, Wonka and her latest BTS Documentary is for Oscar winning director Bong Joon-Ho's latest film. Her first independent feature documentary funded by Quirky Media Stuff is about her mother who is a boxer. Alexandra currently has a short experimental documentary about women in nightclubs which is doing well on the festival circuit and is in development for her next feature doc.

Emma Nordström

Emma Nordström is a Swedish filmmaker who studied the art of film at Katrinebergs Folk High School. She works as a director and producer through her own production company movEmotion, which is both established in Norway and Sweden. Emma has a big passion for short film and has written and directed several award winning shorts. She loves the art and power of filmmaking and has several years of experience with mentoring and teaching in film. She has also worked as a Production Manager for cinemas, theatres and festivals during the past years. In 2022 she produced the 17th edition of International Youth Media Summit in Sweden.

Since 2019 Emma has lived in Norway and are still active with different film projects in both countries.

Cédric Ido

Cédric Ido (born 22 October 1980) is a French-Burkinabe director, writer and actor. He grew up in Stains a small suburban town near Paris and in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso during Thomas Sankara’s revolution. His directing works have been exhibited worldwide in film festivals such as Seattle, Dubai and Venice.

In 2015 he won the African movie academy awards for best short film with Twaaga, which takes place in Burkina Faso during Thomas Sankara's revolution. His latest film The Gravity, was selected at TIFF and released in france recently.

Rand Abou-Fakher

Rand Abou-Fakher (1995, SYR) studied as a flutist at the Syrian Conservatory, broadening her practice in Brussels to audiovisual arts. Today, she works as a director, theatre actor, (art) project manager, and programmer. Her short films Braided Love (2018) and So We Live (2020) have been shown at festivals and museums worldwide. In the process, So We Live won an Oscar Qualifying Award.

Ellery Danes

Ellery Daines is a musician, songwriter, music producer and live sound engineer from Aotearoa New Zealand. He moved to Tromsø in 2018 and since then has built a career both as a solo artist and as a music producer working with artists around Northern Norway.

Ellery is mentoring NUFF´s Music Group for the third year in a row!

Nasra Ali Omar

Artstically electronic artist and percussionist Nasra prospers among a variety of genres and expressions combining improvisation and spontaneity. On stage she often collaborates with performers, musicians and artists from various fields. Her career so far includes a number of studio sessions, as well as being part of various constellations with artists from all over the world.

Nasra started to build up her career, giving solo concerts for percussion and was also often involved in various performing arts and music projects with artists from the electronic field as a session musician in both live and studio recordings.

Born in Somalia in 1979. Spent her childhood in Kenya. In 1992, she moved to Norway with her mother and two younger sisters. Nasra started drumming when she was a child, often keeping the drumbeat in Somali wedding chants and dances with her grandmother as lead singer and her mother and sisters as lead dancers.

Together with Ellery, Nasra is mentoring NUFF´s Music Group.

Ernie Roby-Tomic

Ernie is an Appalachian artist creating performances, digital installations, music, and experimental as well as commercial XR applications internationally. Over the past seven years he has been working predominantly in Unreal Engine building applications for art installations, museum exhibitions, and educational training simulations in public and private sectors of science and healthcare.

Ernie is co-mentoring the SEEK Group with Ismet Bachtiar. SEEK is a special program under the NUFF Film workshops where participants are challenged with developing exciting “new media” projects, here up north in Tromsø, Norway together with young filmmakers from all over the world.

Ismet Bachtiar

Ismet is a creative director, curator and project manager at Tvibit where he runs the Kreativ Teknologi program across North Norway.
Ismet and his team have been actively involved in a wide variety of projects, from e-sports, gaming events and technology festivals to prototype development and game jams, all with a clear focus on talent development in the region and international outreach. In his professional career, Ismet has been an editor for GameAxis magazine in Singapore, ARG designer at Funcom and Game Designer/Content Manager at EA/Playfish.

Ismet is co-mentoring the SEEK Group with Ernie.
