The NUFF 2019 jury
NUFF has two jurys: the Nordic jury and the international jury.
The Nordic jury has to find 4 winners, one best film for each age group and one best Nordic film, this last award is 10 000,- NOK sponsored and presented by Foreningen Norden Norway.
The international jury will find one winner for the best international film.
The winners will be presented at the award ceremony on Sunday 30th at 19:00 at TVIBIT. Admission is free.
The award statuettes are manufactured by Blåst Glasshytta AS in Tromsø.
The International jury
Noel Goodwin, UK
Noel has been the Director of the BFI Future Film Festival since 2008. Now in its 12th year the BFI Future Film Festival is the biggest and most important film festival for young filmmakers in the UK. Alongside this Noel also runs the BFI London Film Festival Education Programme, the BFI Flare Education programme, and monthly BFI Future Film Lab events at BFI Southbank in London, and is working with organisations in the UK and around the world to support young filmmakers develop their talents, access opportunities, and raise the profile of emerging young filmmaking communities, whilst supporting and producing independent films with emerging and young talent.
Marija Ratković Vidaković, Sweden/Croatia
Marija Ratković Vidaković graduated Film, TV and Performing Arts Production from the Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. She has more than 10 years’ experience in the festival/event management and film industry. She is specialised in youth film and developing new talents since she was one of the founders of Four River Film Festival (international festival of youth film) and long-time director. From 2012 to 2017 she was employed at the Croatian Film Association, first as a producer and manager of festival programs and from 2015 to 2017 she has been managing director of CFA. She lives and works in Sweden now as a film and media teacher and freelance producer. In 2018 she directed and produced her first mid-length documentary “IKEA for YU”, which is being distributed at the film festivals throughout the world.
Mathilde Sofie Henriksen, Norway
Mathilde is an 27 year old actress and photographer from Tromsø who has been making short-films and stories since she were 13 years old. She has been acting for as long as she can remember, and has a bachelor in Drama and theatre. She has acted in a numerous local short films, included award-winning short-films and the Norwegian blockbuster movie «the 12th man». Mathilde currently work at TVIBIT film house as a film technician, where she inspire young talents to pursue their goals and dreams.
The Nordic jury
Liisa Haapanen, Finland
Liisa Haapanen is a producer, journalist, and director. Nowadays she works as a producer in Metka Centre for Media Education in Helsinki. She organizes Northern Script Competition which is a competition for young screenwriters living in Finland, Norway and in Sweden. She has worked several years in the Finnish Broadcasting company YLE as a TV journalist. Liisa has studied audiovisual media culture at the University of Lapland. She has a Master of Arts degree.
Arne Papenhagen, Germany
Arne is an apprenticed carpenter and media designer based in Rostock, Germany. Since 2016 he is the director of the FiSH - Filmfestival im StadtHafen which includes the nationwide competition for young German short films.
From 2000-2011 he worked freelance as an editor, audio engineer and author for documentary films. Apart from that he worked as a film teacher with young people.
He was a member of the film board jury of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania and worked in juries for different nationwide and international film festivals such as the dokART-Festival Neubrandenburg or the Szczecin European Film Festival.
Eilif Bremer Landsend, Norway
Eilif (28) is a filmmaker from Tromsø, Norway. He has written and directed several short films, music videos and the feature film Stup.
In addition to making films he is facilitating film workshops in Northern-Norway, Russia, South Africa, Nairobi and in Palestine.
Eilif is educated from the Kaospilot school in Aarhus, Denmark. He works at the Norwegian broadcaster NRK.
