The NUFF 2017 jury
NUFF has two jurys: the Nordic jury and the international jury.
The Nordic jury has to find 4 winners, one best film for each age group and one best Nordic film, this last award is 10 000,- NOK sponsored and presented by Foreningen Norden Norway.
The international jury will find one winner for the best international film.
The winners will be presented at the award ceremony on Sunday 25th at 19:00 at TVIBIT. Admission is free.
The award statuettes are manufactured by Blåst Glasshytta AS in Tromsø.
The International jury
Jianhua Gao, China
Mr. Jianhua GAO has been focused in fine arts and visual art for almost 30 years. During his university years and youth time, he majored in oil painting of scenery and people. He is interested in developing different ways of artistic expression, especially good at indoor and outdoor environment design, film fine arts design(scene, props, furnishing, costumes and character modeling). During his 30 years’ artist career and social artistic practice, Mr.Jianhua GAO has created and performed a large number of work, he also has a lot of outstanding achievements and gained rich experiences.
Terje A. Nymark, Norway
Terje A. Nymark is a writer and director who lives and works in Tromsø. A graduate of the London Film School, he has made several short films with international success, and has worked on commercials, both as a writer and as a director for more than ten years. He is currently working at TVIBIT Film House as a script consultant. He heads the work of the TVIBIT Talent Film Fund, seeking to develop, educate and inspire the next generation of great Norwegian storytellers.
Tonje Ness Meinhardt, Norway
Tonje is 23 years old, and work as a producer at Tvibit Film. She has a Norwegian/British bachelor degree in Film & TV production, and runs her own company Meinhardt Film. Her passion is filmmaking, and she has made several short films.
The Nordic jury
Jana Cernik, Germany
Born in Bratislava (Slovakia), she grew up in Marocco and Hamburg. Jana graduated in applied cultural studies with a focus on film. She worked for the Kinemathek Hamburg and for several international film festivals. She also worked as a freelance translator and journalist and later became a film editor for the TV Magazin TV Today. From 2002 until 2013 she established and directed the national promotional body Czech Film Center (CFC). As of August 2013 Jana Cernik is one of the managing directors of AG Kurzfilm - German Short Film Association which is the representational and lobbying body for German short film. The association’s mission is to improve the public awareness of German short films. Thus, it acts not only as a contact source for political bodies and the film industry, but also as a service centre for short film makers, producers, festivals and cinemas.
Christine Cynn, Norway/USA
For the past 14 years, film director and producer Christine Cynn has been exploring new ways to catalyse and document the human imagination. She is the co-director and co-producer of the Oscar-nominated film The Act of Killing. Her goal is to illuminate the hidden (and often surreal) conflicts of desire, fear, and hope that shape our lives and our world. Christine’s experimental methodology symbiotically fuses observational documentary with memory, fantasy and nightmare to produce visually and viscerally moving new cinematic experiences.
Leif Holst Jensen, Norway
Leif has the past ten years been general secretary of the Norwegian Film TV and Games Producers Association. He has varied jopurnalism, project manager and editor experience from the national braodcast NRK, and he has also been program director of Metropol and chief of culture department at Danmarks Radio. Leif Holst jensen works currently as dean for Film, TV and Games at Westerdals Oslo School of Arts Communication and Technology and is deputy at Foreningen Norden Norway.
