NUFF@Novemberfestivalen
NUFF is at Novemberfestivalen in Trollhättan, which this year is also hosting the Youth Cinema Network Conference. Novemberfestivalen is a key meeting point for youth film in the sweden, and our collaboration through the Youth Cinema Network is an important part of how we support and strengthen young filmmakers across Europe. As part of this partnership, NUFF has presented the NUFF Prize several years in the running, highlighting standout films and shortlisting to be screened them for screening in tromsø
The winning films are shortlisted for screening at NUFF next summer, becoming part of the selection process for our nordic programme.
Here are our winners:
Mellanvikt: Var det som du minns det?
We fell for this film because it’s layered, intelligent, and deeply resonant: a story that lets its visuals speak. It’s deeply human, beautifully crafted, and emotionally honest. With confidence and subtlety, and through powerful metaphors and a finely tuned sense of atmosphere, it manages to explore big, complex themes: memory, growing up, and that painful clash between an idealised childhood and a complicated reality.
For its emotional depth, poetic imagery, and remarkably mature craftsmanship, the award goes to: Var det som du minns det?
Tungvikt: Fastest Fucking Car
This short film is light-hearted, entertaining, and innovative. It builds a world that feels complete, focused, and bursting with ideas. Short filmmaking at its very best: bold, confident, and true to the form.
The acting is phenomenal, theatrical and daring, taking us on a frantic journey. Quite simply, it’s a film that doesn’t just push boundaries, it joyfully ignores them.
Perfectly crafted for the short-film world, it proves that all you need is a great idea, a bright blue jacket, and the guts to do it all in one go!
For its fearless spirit, superb performance, and brilliant execution, the award goes to: Fastest Fucking Car.
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend, Torbjørn and Thomas and the entire Novemberfestivalen!
