THE 2025 NUFF AWARD WINNERS

This year’s Nordisk Ungdom Film Festival (NUFF) celebrated an incredible breadth of youthful creativity, showcasing both regional and international voices that are pushing the boundaries of short-form storytelling. From daring comedies to intimate dramas, our juries and audiences alike found plenty to admire. Here’s a roundup of the winners who left a lasting mark on NUFF 2025.

NORDIC AWARDS

Chosen by our Nordic jury - Mike Murphy, Astrid Aure, and Johannes Ytreberg Meløe

Best Nordic short – Fucked Up

“Fucked Up approaches a difficult topic from a unique perspective, and it pulls off a daring balancing act, delicately mixing humor, gravity, and sensitivity. The result is a beautifully effective, engaging, and thought-provoking piece of cinematic storytelling.”
— Nordic Jury

Director: Edvin Åhrström (Sweden, 2024)

The Nordic Jurists’ Professional Prize for Best Editing – Different Glances

“Different Glances’ careful construction is an example of how film can approach poetry’s ability to describe a moment by stretching time in both directions. And it is the skillful editing that brings it all together, cutting in a musical and suggestive way, with the climax ending where we began.”
— Nordic Jury

Editor: Sigrid Kemp (Denmark, 2024)

International AWARDS

Jury: Hanna Suni, Kent-Einar Myreng, Parnia Haddadi

Best International Short – Bad Blood

“This year’s jury award goes to a film that blew our mind in so many ways. From where it starts – a homage to directors like Tarantino, Wes Anderson, and Edgar Wright – to its playful genre mix of action, horror, romance, and comedy. This movie is not only great, funny, and an absolute joy to watch. It’s a wild journey through a good story, with good actors, great cinematography and smart editing. The main character has to deal with both a cute boy, her feelings towards her bandmates, pressure from her rock legend father, and a teacher possessed by his own cult – this is just the right seasoning we need in our comfy seats to enjoy it even more. The NUFF Jury Award for 2025 is of course… Bad Blood.”

The International Jury’s Prize of Artistic Merit – The Model

“This short film paints a sharp and unsettling portrait of power, vulnerability and group dynamics. With a keen eye for detail and tone, the film captures how admiration can tip into complicity — and how authority, especially when masked as inspiration, can quietly reshape boundaries. For its psychological insight and formal precision, we are proud to present this year’s Artistic Award to The Model.”
— International Jury

🎖️ Honorable Mention – Route 310

“This documentary might be a short ride, but it takes us somewhere meaningful. With a sharp eye and a touch of social satire, it explores a situation that might seem ripe for controversy — yet instead reveals a far more pragmatic and at times unexpected response. For its insight, nuance and heart, we award Route 310 an Honorable Mention.”
