SEEK@NUFF 2026 seeks you!

What does film look like when you forget the rules?

Every year at NUFF in Tromsø, SEEK brings together a handful of young creatives to find out. Working with virtual production, generative AI and the full resources of Tvibit’s Media Lab, participants make a short film in a week — not despite the chaos, but because of it. No two SEEK films have ever looked alike. That’s the point.

We’re looking for people with curiosity bigger than their CVs — bold thinkers who are open to applying new advancements and pushing what’s possible with today’s tools. If you have an idea and the drive to make it happen, we’d like to hear from you.

SEEK Project Archive (2017 - 2024)

Meatspace (2024) is the second SEEK film production to use Tvibit’s Virtual Production Studio. Meatspace tells the story of two online gamers coming to terms with their physical appearances when they finally meet in person — a sharp, funny exploration of digital identity and the real world that lies beneath it.

Participants from Denmark, USA, Poland and Norway. Mentored by Ernie Roby-Tomic and Ismet Bachtiar

Happy Healing (2023) - For the very first-time, our SEEK participants took on the challenge of creating a short film on Tvibits virtual production LED screens with no prior experience. The team worked with Unreal 5, A.I. tools to recreate a cameo appearance of Herman (our very own Stan Lee!) and used NERFs to create a fantastic dream sequence, all to highlight yet another wildly imaginative story about future forms of psychotherapy!

Developed by workshop participants from Norway, mentored by Ernie Roby Williams and Ismet Bachtiar.

Chad´s Epic Pizza Quest (2022) - SEEK participants delve into the world of deep-fakes and A.I driven film processes, coming up with a madcap battle for the “soul of filmmaking”. And of course, pizza.

Developed by workshop participants from USA and Norway, mentored by Ernie Roby Williams and Ismet Bachtiar.

I AM LAZERBEAR (2021) - SEEK participants created a hilarious documentary that tells the story of a 90s cartoon series about a laser-endowed polar bear fighting for the environment. Lazerbear is here to “pew pew pollution!”

Developed by workshop participants from USA and Norway, mentored by Ismet Bachtiar.

NUFF DIGITAL HUBS

NUFF Digital Hubs (2020) is a metaversial digital space for NUFF built on Mozilla Hubs during the pandemic — an experiment in digital presence and online festival experience. Mozilla Hubs has since been sunset, but you can see screenshots and a video of the hub below. Screenshots: nuff.no/nuff-digital-hubs · Video: Watch on Vimeo

NUFF CLUB

NUFF Club (2019) - One of the biggest SEEK projects to date and achieved in 2019 - NUFF Club is an interactive film built on the Eko Studio platform and can be played mobile phones in a group setting. Read more about the process in the film in this article below or try out the experience yourself here!

Developed by workshop participants from Norway and Tunisia, mentored by Marta Ordeig and Ismet Bachtiar.

Room 221 (2018) - SEEK project group used 360 cameras in a first person POV in 2018, to hilarious effect! Room 221 tells a madcap story about how a film group created a VR simulation of the festival, but with dire consequences. Workshop participants were from Norway, Sweden and Egypt and mentored by Ismet Bachtiar.

The Beta (2017) - 360 film developed in 2017 with mentors Cristian Dominguez Rein-Loring and Adrian Ruiz del Cerro. Nominated as one of the best sci-fi 360 short films on the VeeR VR platform. Participants hailed from Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Greenland.
